Homemade Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies for Dogs. My dog is going gaga over them. Recipe is available after the jump.

Ingredients :

1/2 cup instant oatmeal
2 tablespoon unsalted Margarine
1/2 cup boiling water
1 beaten egg
1/3 cup peanut butter
1 and 1/2 cup wheat flour (use organic unbleached flour if you can afford)

Steps :

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). In a large bowl, combine oatmeal, margarine, and boiling water. Let stand 5 minutes. Prepare some tinfoil to cover your oven racks.
2. Thoroughly stir in peanut butter and egg. Mix in flour, 1 cup at a time, until a stiff dough is formed.
3. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface, mixing in additional flour as necessary until dough is smooth and no longer sticky. Roll or pat out dough to 1/2″ thickness. Cut into any shape you like, and place 1 inch apart onto the prepared tinfoil.
4. Bake 35 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Let cool in the oven for a few hours. Store in an airtight container.
